TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Head of Indonesian Presidential Staff, Dudung Abdurachman, visited the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Peacekeeping Mission Center (PMPP) in Sentul, Bogor, West Java on Monday, May 11, 2026, to directly ensure the readiness of the peacekeeping troops from TNI that will soon be deployed.

Also present during the visit were the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, Djamari Chaniago, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Deputy Minister for National Development Planning/Deputy Head of the National Development Planning Agency Febrian Alphyanto Ruddyard, Inspector General Amur Chandra Juli Buana of the National Police's Division of International Relations, and TNI PMPP Commander Major General Iwan Bambang Setiawan.

Following the inspection, Dudung ensured that a total of 742 TNI personnel are ready to be deployed to Lebanon on May 22. These hundreds of Indonesian military personnel are set to rotate and replace the troops currently stationed in Lebanon.

According to Dudung, all preparations from the PMPP have been provided to the maximum. "I see that the troops are ready. Of course, this is a UN mission, but what's more important is to carry out Indonesia's mission," Dudung said, as quoted in a written statement.

He then emphasized the priority of ensuring the safety of the troops, upholding Indonesia's reputation, and carrying out their main tasks to the best of their ability. The former Chief of the Indonesian Army Staff also claimed the distinction of the TNI troops in the eyes of the international community. "Due to this peacekeeping mission, especially the Indonesian military is highly desired there because of their friendliness, care, and seriousness in carrying out their duty," Dudung said.

Dudung then asked for blessings for the departure of Indonesian TNI troops to Lebanon. He also hoped that all the personnel could return to the homeland safely.

"To all Indonesian people, I ask for your blessings, hopefully all these troops can carry out their duties smoothly, we hope for a safe return, and the peacekeeping mission can be successful," Dudung said.

On the same occasion, Foreign Minister Sugiono reminded the troops to carry out their duties sincerely, with full spirit, and conviction to uplift Indonesia's reputation in the international community. Sugiono emphasized that despite being peacekeepers, the operational area they will face is by no means peaceful. Therefore, this politician from the Gerindra Party cautioned that the troops' skills should always prioritize safety.

"It is an honor for me to meet with you at this time, and an even greater honor for me to be able to meet with you when you return to the homeland in good and healthy condition," Sugiono said.
