TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tech company HERE Technologies has just released the results of its latest study on motorcycle rider behavior in the Asia Pacific region, including Indonesia. The study titled "Inside the Two-Wheeler Landscape in APAC: Key Trends and Rider Behaviors" shows that motorcycle riders in Indonesia heavily rely on navigation systems to support efficiency, time management, and driving safety.
The research, conducted in collaboration with the independent firm Point Consulting, involved more than 2,400 respondents from China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam, with 400 respondents from Indonesia. The study highlights the high frequency of daily motorcycle riding in Indonesia, a destination-oriented driving culture, and increasing expectations for the accuracy and reliability of navigation systems.
Ninety-six percent of respondents in Indonesia use two-wheeled vehicles for daily travel. The study also notes that nearly one in two riders in Indonesia often, even always, use navigation systems to help deal with traffic jams, choose safer routes, and keep travel time predictable.
