TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A fashion-themed installation, dominated by red and black, was featured at the gala premiere of "The Devil Wears Prada 2," held at XXI Plaza Indonesia in Jakarta on Monday evening, April 27, 2026.
Embodying the theme and aesthetics of the movie, the gala premiere emphasized visual fashion elements, with clothing displays and a brightly lit red carpet creating a glamorous atmosphere.
The premiere also featured a photo booth to allow guests—many of whom were adorned in red and black outfits—to capture the moment.
Various Indonesian artists, celebrities, and content creators, including Keanu Angelo, Patricia Gouw, and Nagita Slavina, attended the Jakarta premiere for "The Devil Wears Prada 2."
The 2026 film is the direct sequel to "The Devil Wears Prada," a cult classic about the glitzy life of those working for a fashion magazine, starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.
"The Devil Wears Prada 2" tells the story of the competitive world of fashion, following the journey of Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep) towards retirement amidst the decline of the print magazine industry.
In an effort to save Runway magazine from bankruptcy, Miranda teams up with her former assistant, Andy Sachs (played by Anne Hathaway), and Emily Charlton (played by Emily Blunt).
"The Devil Wears Prada 2" is hitting Indonesian theaters today, Wednesday, April 29, 2026. The much-anticipated sequel is expected to appeal to both longtime fans and a new generation of audiences interested in fashion and pop culture.
