The Secretary of the Advisory Council of the Central Executive Board of the Ummat Party, Ansufri Idrus Sambo, is questioning the disappearance of a video featuring the opinion of the Chair of the Ummat Party's Advisory Council, Amien Rais, from his personal YouTube account.

In the video, Amien Rais accused President Prabowo Subianto and Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya of having a relationship that goes beyond professional boundaries.

2. BEM SI Marks National Education Day with Nine Demands

The Alliance of the Student Executive Bodies of Indonesia (BEM SI) will hold a demonstration to commemorate National Education Day (Hardiknas) today, May 2. BEM SI Central Coordinator Muzammil Ihsan stated that the protest will take place at the Arjuna Wijaya Horse Statue in Central Jakarta this Saturday afternoon.

Muzammil noted that this year's Hardiknas rally will be attended by BEM SI members, representatives from Muhammadiyah and 'Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions, and other community groups. "There are approximately 700 participants," Muzammil said in a message on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

3. Education Day: Police Block Student March Toward State Palace

Police blocked a march by the Alliance of the All-Indonesia Student Executive Boards (BEM SI) toward the State Palace. BEM SI protesters and Central Jakarta Metro Police clashed as students attempted to break through a barricade during a rally to commemorate National Education Day (Hardiknas).

The demonstration near the Horse Statue in Central Jakarta was attended by at least three student alliances. In addition to BEM SI, the Alliance of the Senate of State Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (Sema PTKIN) and the Student Executive Boards of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (PTMAI) participated.
