TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded that 115 neighborhood units (RT) across West, East, and South Jakarta were still inundated by floodwaters ranging from 15 centimeters (cm) to 2.4 meters.

"The heavy rainfall caused the Krukut, Grogol Mampang, Angke, Pesanggrahan, Keuangan, Mampang, and Ciliwung rivers to overflow, inundating residential areas," said Marulitua Sijabat, Head of the Jakarta BPBD, in Jakarta on Tuesday, April 5, 2026.

According to him, the latest data shows that 115 RTs and four roads in West, East, and South Jakarta were still flooded as of Tuesday morning.

He explained that the heavy rain that hit Jakarta and its surrounding areas on Monday (May 4) caused water levels to rise at Pesanggrahan Post (Alert 3) at 4:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time), Pasar Ikan Sluice Gate (Alert 2) at 7:00 PM WIB, Depok Post (Alert 3) at 5:00 PM WIB, Angke Hulu Post (Alert 3) at 5:00 PM WIB, and Angke Hulu Post (Alert 2) at 6:00 PM WIB.

Currently, the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has deployed personnel to monitor flooding conditions in each area and is coordinating with the Water Resources Agency, the Public Works Agency, and the Fire and Rescue Agency to drain floodwaters and ensure that water channels are functioning properly.
