TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has warned residents of Jakarta and surrounding areas of potential moderate to heavy rainfall from this evening into tonight, Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
Humidity levels across the metropolitan area are expected to range between 70 and 94 percent under wet weather conditions.
Based on the latest 24-hour forecast, conditions across Jakarta metropolitan area are expected to be cloudy to heavily overcast from morning through midday.
Temperatures in most parts of Jakarta and nearby areas are projected to range between 26 and 30 degrees Celsius, while Bogor is expected to be slightly cooler at 24 to 28 degrees Celsius.
By the evening, around 07:00 PM local time, skies across parts of Jabodetabek will remain cloudy, with moderate to heavy rain likely in several areas, including South and East Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang Regency, South Tangerang, and all of Bogor.
“Be alert for possible thunderstorms and strong winds,” the agency warned.
Conditions are expected to remain cloudy into Tuesday night and early Wednesday. Light to moderate rainfall may persist in parts of Tangerang City and Regency, Bekasi Regency, as well as West and North Jakarta.
