TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra, slated for release early next year, is rumored to feature a dual aperture camera concept reminiscent of the system found in the Galaxy S9. Far from being a standard mobile feature, dual aperture technology mimics the human eye's ability to adjust to light automatically. This refined mechanism from Samsung is designed to produce sharp, clear images even in low-light conditions.
According to leaks reported by Tech Advisor on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, Samsung's new technology is reportedly also being considered by Apple for the iPhone 18 Pro. Apple’s potential adoption of the feature is believed to have prompted Samsung to reintroduce the dual aperture system for its flagship lineup.
Regarding the S27 Ultra's camera capabilities, leaks also point to the inclusion of Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC) technology to bolster the dynamic range of each shot. This technology mirrors the hardware currently installed in the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.
Furthermore, the 3x telephoto lens in the S27 Ultra is likely to be removed, as it has reportedly failed to stand out among Samsung users. According to the leaks, the new primary lens is expected to be significantly more flexible.
As technical details regarding the camera spread across the digital landscape, global technology tipsters have also suggested that Samsung may cease production of the standard Galaxy S26, replacing it instead with a Galaxy S26 Pro. "We knew well in advance of the eventual Samsung Unpacked event that the phone had been scrapped," the Tech Advisor review stated.
