Who Is Hanif Faisol Nurofiq? Prabowo's New Deputy Food Coordinator?

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Hanif Faisol Nurofiq as the Deputy Minister Coordinator for Food at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday, April 27, 2026. Before being appointed as the Deputy Minister Coordinator for Food, Hanif served as the Minister of Environment.

Hanif obtained a bachelor's and master's degree in forestry from the Faculty of Forestry, Lambung Mangkurat University. He then pursued a doctoral study at the University of Brawijaya. His career began through a mandatory service program at the Ministry of Forestry as a forest ranger.

In 1993, Hanif started his assignment as a staff member in South Kalimantan. He then held various technical positions in the field, from Head of Forest Clearing Resort to Head of Forest Management Unit.

Hanif's bureaucratic career continued to advance. He has served as the Head of the Forestry Office in Tanah Bumbu Regency and the Head of the Forestry Office in South Kalimantan Province during the 2016-2020 period.

At the national level, Hanif was entrusted to serve as the Secretary of the Directorate General of Forestry and Environmental Planning (PKTL) at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry from 2020 to 2023, before being appointed as the Director General of PKTL from 2023 to 2024.
