TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian electricity company PT PLN (Persero) recorded that 116,537 customers across Indonesia took advantage of the "Power Up Real, Safe Electricity, Smooth Work" program, which offered a 50 percent discount for increasing electricity power. From April 15 to 28, 2026, PLN conducted the program to support the electricity needs of customers, especially during the implementation of work-from-home policies and daily activities at home.
The Retail and Commercial Director of PLN, Adi Priyanto, stated that as people's activities at home grow, the electricity needs of households continue to increase. Therefore, PLN introduced this program so that customers can obtain more reliable electricity services at more affordable costs.
"This program has helped customers to experience the benefits of more reliable electricity to support various daily activities, both WFH, business, and other activities carried out at home," said Adi quoted from a written statement on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
He explained that the change in power from 900 Volt-Ampere (VA) to 1,300 VA became the most chosen option for customers during the program. A total of 25,881 customers were reached, accounting for approximately 22.21 percent of the program's total realization.
In addition, a total of 24,116 customers increased the power from 1,300 VA to 2,200 VA. Meanwhile, the power change from 450 VA to 900 VA was utilized by 18,515 customers.
According to Adi, the high level of public interest indicates that households' electricity needs continue to increase for work, business operations, and daily comfort.
PLN continues to encourage digital transformation by optimizing PLN Mobile. Through this application, customers can access the additional power services more quickly, practically, and transparently.
The "Power Up Real, Safe Electricity, Smooth Work" program targets single-phase, low-voltage customers with an initial power capacity ranging from 450 to 5,500 VA. Through the PLN Mobile application, customers can increase their power up to 7,700 VA and receive a 50 percent discount.
