TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Aston Villa convincingly claimed its first-ever Europa League title at Tupras Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey, on Thursday. The English Premier League club crushed German side Freiburg with a dominant 3–0 scoreline, with goals from Youri Tielemans, Emiliano Buendia, and Morgan Rogers.
As Fox Sports cited, the triumph came as a major milestone for Villa, ending the club’s 30-year trophy drought. The last time The Villans lifted a major trophy was the 1995–96 Football League Cup, when they defeated Leeds United 3–0.
With the victory, Villa officially etched their name into Europa League history.

Aston Villa’s Europa League triumph could give England the potential to send six clubs to next season’s Champions League. However, that scenario depends on where Villa finishes in the Premier League standings.
Should Villa conclude the season inside the top five, their Europa League qualification spot will not create an additional Champions League place for another English club, given they would have already secured passage through league placement.
On the other hand, if Villa happen to finish outside the top five, they will still march into the Champions League as Europa League winners while the Premier League’s top five also qualify, giving England six representatives in Europe's elite competition.
