TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's state-owned oil company, Pertamina Patra Niaga, is preparing a supply of avtur (jet fuel) to support the smooth operation of the 2026 hajj flights, including in the regions of Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The total supply prepared in these two embarkation regions reaches 9,614 kiloliters (KL).
The two embarkation points referred to are located at Adi Soemarmo Airport and Yogyakarta International Airport. Nationally, Pertamina is preparing over 80 thousand KL of avtur to meet the hajj flight needs in 14 embarkation points.
This year's hajj flight service is divided into two phases, the first phase is from April 22nd to May 21st, 2026, and the second phase is from June 1st to June 30th, 2026. During these periods, the company ensures the operational readiness and the reliability of fuel supplies at all service points.
Pertamina Patra Niaga's Area Manager for Communication, Relations, and CSR for the Central Java region, Taufiq Kurniawan, stated that this readiness is supported by an integrated supply chain system from upstream to downstream.
"Pertamina ensures the reliability of avtur supply at all hajj flight service points through an integrated supply chain system. We do this to guarantee the smooth and safe operation of hajj flights, on time, and in accordance with service standards," he told reporters on Monday, April 27th, 2026.
For the embarkation at Adi Soemarmo Airport, the avtur requirement during the hajj period is projected to reach around 6,000 KL. This figure is down by about 16 percent compared to the previous year, in line with the decrease in the number of flight groups (kloter) from 188 groups in 2025 to 160 groups in 2026.
Meanwhile, Yogyakarta International Airport is a new embarkation point in this year's hajj operation. Pertamina is preparing a supply of around 3,614 KL of avtur to serve 52 groups that will depart through the airport. Operationally, Pertamina is also optimizing the digital system through Pertamina Aviation Fuel Delivery Management (PADMA).
"This system enables monitoring of the fueling process to transaction validation to be done in real-time, thus enhancing the transparency and efficiency of avtur distribution," said Taufiq.
This distribution serves hajj organizing airlines, including Garuda Indonesia and Saudia Airlines. According to Taufiq, the implementation of this digital system also strengthens good corporate governance principles and service accountability.
"The readiness of this energy supply is part of Pertamina's strategic role in supporting the smooth running of the hajj pilgrimage for the Indonesian people, as well as ensuring the country's presence through reliable energy services," he said.
