TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has left for another visit to France late Monday, May 25, 2026, as confirmed by Deputy Minister of State Secretariat Juri Ardiantoro.
Juri conveyed this when asked about the President's on Wednesday, May 27. "The President had already departed for a working visit to France yesterday," said Juri at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, May 26.
But Juri declined to disclose further details about Prabowo's visit to France, stating that it would be explained by Foreign Minister Sugiono.
Last month, Minister Sugiono had revealed the plan for Prabowo's state visit to France while outlining the president's previous trip on April 13-14.
According to him at the time, President Prabowo met with his French counterpart, President Emmanuel Macron, for an in-person meeting to discuss cooperation on various sectors, including defense, education, infrastructure, and critical mineral use.
"As well as President Prabowo's plan for a state visit to France in the near future," said Sugiono on April 22.
In his 19 months in office, Prabowo Subianto has already made four state visits to France. Most recently, Prabowo visited the Elysée Palace in Paris, France, for a tête-à-tête meeting with Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday afternoon, April 14, 2026 local time.
This moment was shared by Prabowo through his official Instagram account @presidenrepublikindonesia.
Earlier, Prabowo visited France in mid-July 2025 to attend the Bastille Day 2025 Military Parade at the Palace de la Concorde, Paris, as an honored guest.
Then, earlier this year, in January 2026, Prabowo made a brief visit of less than five hours to France after a series of visits to the UK and Switzerland.
Prabowo and Macron's meeting is said to have lasted for about 2 hours and 30 minutes, starting with a dinner. They discussed global issues and France's leadership as the host of the G7 meeting.
