Train Collision in Bekasi Leaves Dozens Injured, Victims Evacuated

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta A combined team of Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) personnel, security officers from East Bekasi Timur Station, as well as the TNI-Polri are still evacuating the victims of the train collision between the Argo Bromo Anggrek and the Commuter Line train.

According to TEMPO's observation at the location on Monday, April 27, 2026, dozens of passengers were alternately carried using stretchers and evacuated to the second floor of the station. From the second floor, a lot of victims were seen lying and injured.

The train collision incident occurred around 20:57 WIB (Western Indonesian Time). The cause is not yet known. Until 22:00 WIB, the process of evacuating the passengers is still ongoing.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) apologized for the accident that occurred. "At the moment, all efforts are focused on the evacuation process of passengers and train crew, as well as handling the victims at the scene with the primary priority being safety," said Vice President Corporate Communication KAI Anne Purba in an official statement.

She said that KAI continues to coordinate with all relevant parties in the field to handle this incident. Information on the handling at the scene will be provided periodically.

In line with Anne, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager Franoto Wibowo conveyed an apology to customers for the inconvenience caused.

"Currently, PT KAI is carrying out the process of evacuating the train cars and handling the victims at the scene together with the police. We are trying our best so that the operational travel of the trains can return to normal as soon as possible," said Franoto.
