TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The instant messaging application WhatsApp is preparing to revamp its interface design with the Liquid Glass design, as previously introduced by Apple in the latest iOS version.
Indications of this change have emerged since late 2025 through the beta version of the application, when some users began reporting updates on small interface elements, including the main conversation screen.
The latest report from WABetaInfo, as cited from GSM Arena on May 3, revealed that WhatsApp is getting closer to the launch of a new interface design for chats. The update is said to bring several visually striking changes compared to the previous version.
Interestingly, these changes are not yet available even for beta users. Nevertheless, WABetaInfo reportedly managed to activate the new interface design in a limited manner, which shows the presence of a floating chat bar and a navigation bar with transparent effects.
Although the development has reached an advanced stage, the launch of this new design does not seem to be imminent. Meta is said to be taking a relatively slow approach in rolling out the updates to users.
So far, many users have not yet received these new interface elements. Therefore, the revamp of WhatsApp's design is likely to be released widely only after all updates are declared completed and ready for use by the general users.
