TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The gold price from PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) rose on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Antam gold price today increased by Rp35,000 per gram compared to the previous day.
According to data on the Logam Mulia website, today's gold price is Rp2,800,000 per gram, up from Wednesday, May 20, 2026, when it was recorded at Rp2,765,000 per gram. Meanwhile, the gold price yesterday dropped by Rp24,000 from the previous day, which was Rp2,789,000 per gram.
The gold price reached an all-time high of Rp3,168,000 on January 29, 2025. Meanwhile, in May, the highest price recorded was Rp2,859,000 per gram, on May 12, 2026. The buyback price of Antam gold bar also rose by Rp35,000 today to Rp2,604,000 per gram.
As quoted by Trading Economics, the world gold price was US$4,500 per ounce on Thursday, May 21, 2026, after rising more than 1 percent in the previous session. The graph shows that today's gold price has increased compared to before.
The movement of gold prices is supported by growing confidence that a peaceful agreement between the United States and Iran is imminent. This agreement could alleviate inflationary pressures and reduce concerns about interest rate hikes.
U.S. President Donald Trump said his country is in the final stages of negotiations with Iran, sparking hope that the Strait of Hormuz may soon be reopened. The prospect of a recovery in shipping has led to a sharp drop in oil prices. This has helped alleviate inflation fears and lower central banks' expectations for tightening monetary policy.
At the same time, minutes from the latest policy meeting of the U.S. Federal Reserve showed that most officials believe that a rate hike this year could still be justified if inflation remains above the 2 percent target.
