TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Indonesia, Faisal Abdullah Al Amoudi, expressed condolences for the recent long-distance train crash between Argo Bromo Anggrek and the Commuter Line train at Bekasi Timur Station.
"We convey our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the Government and people of Indonesia for the recent train collision incident, which has resulted in fatalities and injuries," Ambassador Al Amoudi said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
Faisal conveyed this during the Graduation Ceremony for the Graduates of the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Studies (LIPIA) Jakarta, attended by the Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar, Hidayat Nur Wahid, and representatives of Arab countries in Jakarta.
Al Amoudi prayed for the deceased to be given a place of honor in His presence and for the injured to be healed.
"We pray that Allah bestows His abundant mercy on the deceased and places them in His most noble paradise, and grants healing to the injured and patience and solace to the families left behind," he said.
He also expressed solidarity with the people and government of Indonesia, especially those involved in this tragedy.
"We express our solidarity with our brothers and sisters in this tragedy, and we pray to Allah to always protect Indonesia and all Muslim countries from all forms of harm and tragedy," he said.
