TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Google has confirmed that its artificial intelligence model, Gemini, will be integrated into the new, more personalized version of Apple's virtual assistant, Siri, which is scheduled for a 2026 launch.
As reported by Macrumors on Wednesday, April 22, this development was announced by Google Cloud Chief Executive Officer Thomas Kurian during the Google Cloud Next 2026 event in Las Vegas.
Kurian stated that Google and Apple are collaborating to develop a next-generation Apple Foundation Model based on Gemini technology, which will support future Apple Intelligence features.
"These models will now power future Apple Intelligence features, including a more personalized Siri coming later this year," Thomas said during his presentation, as reported by Antara.
Previously, Apple had postponed the launch of the next-generation Siri to March 2025, later stating the feature would become available the following year. In late 2025, the company reiterated that the Siri update was on track for a 2026 release.
While Apple had initially targeted the launch of the revamped Siri for the spring of 2026, the company adjusted its schedule following issues regarding the assistant's accuracy.
